Raquel Martin is a multimedia journalist who can shoot, write, edit, produce and enterprise stories. 

She is currently a Washington, DC Correspondent with Nexstar Media Group. Everyday, Raquel independently researches, produces and presents her own stories on air for Nexstar’s more than 190 local stations nationwide. As a DC reporter Raquel must stay up-to-date with the ever-changing climate of politics on Capitol Hill. Everyday Raquel is on-camera serving up the latest political news to viewers across the country.  

Before moving to DC, Raquel Martin worked as a Statehouse Reporter for WCIA3 in Springfield, Illinois. Prior to moving to the “Land of Lincoln,” Raquel worked as an Assignment Editor at KABC-TV ABC7 Eyewitness News Los Angeles. There Raquel honed in on many of the skills she uses as a reporter. As an assignment editor she was responsible for responding and adapting to constant breaking news, performing background research and interviewing sources.

During college, Raquel worked as an Assistant News Producer for San Diego's  local, independent news station KUSI NEWS. She also held two broadcast news internships at NBC San Diego and the San Diego Union Tribune. On campus Raquel wrote for the "Daily Aztec" newspaper, hosted a weekly news segment on KCR radio.

Raquel Martin received a B.A. in journalism with an emphasis in political science from San Diego State University in 2014.
